RPW Rebirth...Episode 1

Welcome to RPW Rebirth--non-stop action with plenty of attitude and honor! This week we will begin going down the tournament roads to crown our first RPW Tag and Rising Phoenix Champions. Tonight's show will be capped off with a wild, must-see 8-man Main Event. Let's get down to the ring for first-round tag action!

RPW Tag Titles--1st Round
Briscoes (Mark and Jay) v Steenerico (Kevin Steen/El Generico)
Winners: Briscoes via springboard doomsday device on Generico.

Rising Phoenix--1st Round
Davey Richards v Matt Hardy
Winner: Matt Hardy via Twist of Fate.

Profile on Shawn Michaels--The Showstopper. The very definition of the phoenix. A debillitating back injury appeared to end his career, but he was able to rise up and resurrect his career to become even better than he was in his "prime." Now, his unparalled focus is on becoming the 1st ever RPW World Champion.

RPW Tag Titles--1st Round
Kings of Wrestling (Chris Hero/Claudio Castagnoli) w/ Larry Sweeney v Strong Style Thugs (Low Ki-Homicide) w/ Hernandez
Winners: No Contest (Ref throws the match out after all hell breaks loose. Sweeney continually tries to interfere, leading to Hernandez chasing him into the ring and all six men squaring off. Winner of MotorCity MachineGuns v The Embassy receives a bye.)

Rising Phoenix--1st Round
"Cowboy" James Storm v Paul Burchall
Winner: Paul Burchall via Curb Stomp.

Profile on Edge--The Rated R Superstar. The man who claims to be leading the sport into the next generation. Edge bridges the gap between the legends of yesterday and the evolution of the sport into the future. A man who's will to win by any means necessary rubs some the wrong way, but it never ceases to be successful. Now he has his eyes on the RPW World Title.

RPW Tag Titles--1st Round
Austin Aries/Roderick Strong v Age of the Fall (Jimmy Jacobs/Tyler Black)
Winners: Aries and Strong via corner dropkick/sick kick combo on Jacobs. Aries/Strong will Briscoes in Semifinals in 2 weeks.

Profile on Triple H w/ Advisor "Nature Boy" Ric Flair--The Game. The Cerebral Assassin. The King of Kings. Eleven times he has been a world champion. Eleven times he has been to the mountain top. However, this time shall be more gratifying and sweeter than the rest, because in the annals of history there can only be one "first." The Game states that he will stop at nothing, NOTHING, to be the 1st RPW World Champion.

Rising Phoenix--1st Round
Tomko v Brent Albright
Winner: Tomko via Yakuza Boot. Tomko will face Paul Burchall in Semifinals next week. As Tomko was heading to the back after match, Umaga was coming at for his 1st round match. A brief staredown escalates to fisticuffs quickly. RPW security is able to get them separated after the short exchange.

Rising Phoenix--1st Round
Umaga v "Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels
Winner: Umaga via SWB (Samoan Wrecking Ball/Catatonic). Daniels tried to stick and move but could never really get anything going on the pissed off Samoan. Relatively academic. Umaga moves on to face Matt Hardy in the Semis.

RPW Tag Titles--1st Round (Winner Gets Bye to Finals)
MotorCity MachineGuns (Chris Sabin/Alex Shelley) v The Embassy (Miz/Rave) w/ Prince Nana and John Morrison
Winners: MCMGs via 21 Gun Salute on The Miz. Miz was distracting ref so Nana and Morrison could hold Sabin for Rave. Sabin was able to get loose causing Rave to run into Nana and Morrison, who were on the apron. The collision knocks Nana and Morrison to the floor. With Miz alone, the MCMGs landed the 21 gun Salute (a series of kicks to head and body, culminating with stereo superkicks.) MCMGs move onto Finals to face winner of Briscoes/Aries-Strong.

Profile on John Cena--Dr. of Thuganomics. "I've done everything I ever set out to do. Along the way I lost sight of what was important. Ws and Titles. That's all that matters in this sport. The adulation of fans and the respect of peers can be lost without you ever doing a thing. I control what I can control, and I can and will control the RPW World Title. Because no one, not the fans, not the board of directors, not the RPW roster...NO ONE can stop me! I bet your life on that."

8-MAN TAG MAIN EVENT
Undertaker/Randy Orton/Nigel McGuinness/CM Punk v Samoa Joe/AJ Styles/Bryan Danielson/Rob Van Dam
Winners: Joe/Styles/Danielson/RVD via 5* Frog Splash on CM Punk after RVD blind tags Joe before he hits the Musclebuster on Punk in a wild cluster finish.

Tune in next week for the 1st Round of the RPW World Title Tournament plus much more...

The Ashes...

Welcome to the Preview Show for RPW. I am your host for the evening, Mike D. Stroia. I am also the commissioner and proprietor of Rising Phoenix Wrestling. Tonight, I will be breaking down our roster and discussing the different tournaments that we have set to determine our first RPW Champions.
First and foremost, our announcing team will be the dynamic duo of John Bradshaw Layfield and Joey Styles. From time to time, one of our talented wrestlers may help in the booth, but please believe that the commentary is in very capable hands when it comes to Layfield and Styles. Our backstage/in-ring interviewer is Lenny Leonard of ROH fame. He is new to the interviewer position, but we were so impressed with his ROH work that we decided to give him a shot. These three gentlemen are what great professional wrestling are all about. They have a dedication to the business that can be heard with every call that they make.

With all due respect to the announce team, let's get down to why you are really here. We will first announce the competitors for the RPW Tag Team Title Tournament. The RPW Tag Titles are unique, because it puts booking power in the hands of the champs. The Tag Champs are able to decide their match type. There is Phoenix/Classic style, which is standard tag. Tags are mandatory, with DQ and countouts. There is also a scramble option. Scrambles don't require tags, but there is only one legal man from each team in at a time. The rules are relaxed for this one, with no countouts and DQ only for egregious behavior. Tornado is no tags and no rules. Everyone and everything is legal. The Champs get to choose from these 3 options to give themselves an advantage. They can choose what suits them best or try to choose what their opponents would have the most difficult time with. Don't you just love the possibilities?!?

RPW Tag Title Tournament

Jay and Mark Briscoe v Kevin Steen/El Generico
Austin Aries/Roderick Strong v Age of the Fall (Jimmy Jacobs/Tyler Black)
MotorCity MachineGuns (Alex Shelley/Chris Sabin) v Embassy (Miz/Rave) w/ Prince Nana
Kings of Wrestling (Chris Hero/Claudio Castagnoli) v Strong Style Thugs (Homicide/Low-Ki)

Another thing that sets RPW apart will be the Rising Phoenix Championship. This title is different from the RPW World Championship that we will discuss later. The Rising Phoenix Champion is the definition of a fighting champion. There is a 20 minute time-limit to his matches. He may win by pinfall, submission, countout, DQ, and knockout/ref stoppage. However, if he goes to the time limit, he will be stripped, and a match will be held to determine a new champion. In the Rising Phoenix division, you win or go home!

Davey Richards v Matt Hardy
Umaga v "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels
"Cowboy" James Storm v Paul Burchall
Tomko v Brent Albright

For the coup de grace, the RPW World Title. There are no time limits for RPW World Title Matches, and the matches have relaxed DQ rules and no count-outs. When you are RPW World Champion, you do what you have to do to maintain your title. With that said, in order to qualify for this tournament, you must be a former world champion.

The RPW World Title Tournament will feature 12 men--all former world champions. There were 4 byes handed out to the guys with most time/most occurrences as champion. The 4 Byes go to--Shawn Michaels, John Cena, Triple H, and Edge. Edge just (for lack of a better term) edges Undertaker in terms of time as champ to receive final bye.

Undertaker v "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson
Samoa Joe v Nigel McGuinness
Randy Orton v "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles
CM Punk v Rob Van Dam

Ladies and gentlemen, this is only the beginning...the phoenix that is professional wrestling will rise in RPW!

The Burning...

From the ashes of the 1990's boom period for the sport of kings and carnies a-like, rises a phoenix known as RPW--join the renaissance!

For those of you who were following my fantasy booking exploits through http://www.televisionchamp.blogspot.com/, I have some explaining to do. I have decided to build my own federation from the ground up. I really didn't want the restraints of having to use a pre-existing roster and feuds. In all honesty, I just didn't feel I could carry that through an entire year. So, Rising Phoenix Wrestling was born.

I have chosen a roster of established stars from WWE, some up-and-comers from ROH, and a few of my personal favorites from TNA to create some fresh feuds and match-ups. I hope you enjoy my creation, and my apologies to the 5 of you that were waiting with baited breath from my next installment of "From Parts Unknown..." I sincerely feel that this will be much better, because I was able to build it from my own blueprint.

With that I bid you farewell for now. Stay tuned for the RPW preview special with the unveiling of the roster.
